Definition of magnum opus

 

Masterpiece: magnum opus (Latin, great work) or chef-d’œuvre (French,  a "masterpiece" was a work of a very high standard produced to obtain membership of a guild or academy in various areas of the visual arts and crafts.

Magnum Opus Publications is an independent, family-owned, Black publishing company located in Northern California.  Magnum Opus translates from Latin to mean, Great Work or Masterpiece. Our purpose is to create works of art for the people that are both unflinching and inspiring, truthful and thoughtful.
